Legal & General Ventures and Blackstone are expected to acquire Four Seasons Healthcare group within the next few days, the Sunday Express reported. A spokesperson for nursing home operator Craegmoor Healthcare (a Legal & General backed business) noted that discussions were ongoing and that an announcement would be made tomorrow.
The report said the two private equity firms will beat off competition from German insurer Allianz and rival UK private equity firm Electra Partners, who are expected to drop out after reaching the second round.
The report cited a source close to the operation as saying that Electra had already pulled out. The article valued the potential deal at GBP 750m, including GBP 300M in debt, adding that Alchemy, the private equity firm which owns Four Seasons was expected to make GBP200m in profit from the sale. Goldman Sachs is advising Alchemy on the operation, the report concluded.
